  1. I can personally vouch for his thumbs up review (Sept 24, 2009) of the “Pollo Asados El Regio” chicken trailer on Airline Drive kinda sorta across the street from Connie’s.

There are plenty of bad things in my neighborhood. Pollo Asados El Regio is not one of them. The rice and beans are unfortunately meh, but that is one fine chicken.

It is best to lay down a sheet of butcher paper on the floor of your car before you pick this stuff up. The plastic bag is merely ceremonial.

P.S. Now, if you want the best Tex Mex rice and charro beans in town, hit up Teotihuacan, and don’t be a candy ass- don’t go to the Heights-friendly Airline location; come to the original hole in the wall in my neck of the woods near the corner of W. Cavalcade and Irvington. You will be pleased.

  2. I think there are a few, but I never see them, as close to campus as I am. I =know= there used to be one in Alberta City, that was run by the same people who ran a fantastic hole-in-the-wall taqueria, but their location got taken out by the tornado. The shell of the building is still there, but that’s all.
