I don’t know that I’ve even seen anybody successfully drop their low E string to D strictly by muscle memory- with no time to test it by ear, and clearly in this case, not using one of those D-Tuna gadgets. This guy has done his time in the woodshed.
Not to mention that he then BRINGS IT BACK UP TO E PERFECTLY.
