The only element of the commentary with regard to this fiasco that doesn’t ring true for me is the curiously popular and repeated theme that we can reasonably determine the extent to which an unethical act is objectionable by examining the total number of individuals engaging in it in any given situation. One individual cheating=highly objectionable/subject to punishment. Lots of individuals cheating=nothing to see here. That I don’t get.
It’s clear enough that Armstrong is getting a raw deal that smacks of all sorts of malice. However, if we assume he did, in fact, cheat, it strikes me as awfully odd to semi-tacitly excuse it by simply pointing out that lots of other people cheated too.
And before you even get started, know that yes, I have consulted with the Juggalo Family and they are 100% behind me on this.
