One question: Would the FBI be involved in the vetting of a candidate? A cabinet appointee, yes, but a candidate? Isn’t that the job of the campaign itself?
Either way, the salient point of Reich’s post is totally valid.
Actually the McCain campaign asked the FBI to run checks on the possible VPs and they refused because it was solely for the campaign.
I don’t know what would be a more incredible story, that they did not vett VP pick(S), or that the the press can’t find shit to stick to Palin in light of the happy-go-lucky search? Either way, they hit one out of the park as the buzz is on Palin now. I look forward to seeing how this plays out.
