I heard the NPR story in the car this morning about the campaign in Southwest Virginia. I found myself whincing throughout the segment, wondering if the person talking might be a relative. I also found myself hoping that someone would actually say, “I ain’t votin’ for a n…” if for no other reason than the honesty would have been refreshing in spite of the sentiment. As for the Stanley ad, I’m glad to hear some redeeming news about my state of origin.
